Flash a friend today!

same...

#The first Saturday of every December is not OFFICIAL!!!!
flash your friend day, show your boobs to everyone you know

I was once tailed by a cruiser after doing the radar flash bit. I think I would have been nailed for any minor infraction. Seeing them in my rear view I made very positive stops and signals until they gave up.

Does the same rule go for a biker tapping his helmet?

What about modulating headlights?

What if an on coming car has it's high beams on and you want to alert them?

The cop babe from Durham is spouting BS. Either it's a law or it's not. Quotas must be down. It's all about the money.

That Cop is so full of ***** with the explanation that "we don't have the right to flash our high beams because it is a distraction to oncoming drivers" What about the cop strobe lights being a distraction when they are on? Even the minister of transportation says its not illegal to warn someone of an impending speed trap. If the police are so worried about safety and not revenue generation, then getting someone to slow down is all about safety and a good thing.

Whomever is low on their quota just need to hang around brampton. They will be double their quota in a day.

Remember in brampton "the right is way is: my way"

Is it illegal? Nope.

This was all over the news a number of years ago in TO and even then Premier McGuilty was on TV saying it wasn't. Turned out a number of Toronto's finest were making up HTA laws and eventually it all blew over.

I flashed an unmarked cop car after passing a speed trap. I got pulled over, when asked why I flashed my lights, I told him, he laughed and sent me on my way. (was a grey winter day approx 4 or 5 pm, couldn't tell what car was approaching).

Everyone should flash to warn. I'm just not sure if a lot of people actually know to do it or understand why someone might be flashing... And even less riders understand tapping of the helmet.

I was reading a few months ago that there are actually some states where if the cop is hiding you can get out of the ticket because the point of speed traps is to improve safety. Not hiding means people will see him and slow down thus increasing safety. If he's hiding he's just money grabbing. Could be bull, though.

I flash my lights at people I'm behind on the highway if they don't have their lights on at night. Usually I try high beams, then actually turning my lights on and off. Nothing works. They have no clue.

Jim Kenzie did a piece about this years ago when the big guy over at Motoring (Brad Diamond) got nailed. Guess they picked the wrong guy to pick on because he knew they were wrong and fought it.

Coles notes as I recall the case: Alternating flashing indicates that the left flashes, then the right, not both at the same time as would be the case when flashing your high beams.
