FireMate's Guess the Location of the Photoshoot game!

Ok folks, after doing one GTA-based photoshoot thread, I thought I'd give a curveball and show you the interior of a place, and leave it up to you to help decide where it was taken.

Note: All photos done on location are with permits and/or permission of the owner. I've done work with various people over the years that in exchange give me places to shoot, not a fan of those who do the break and enter style Photoshoots with their models, equipment, etc.

Holy crap your photos are excellent. I wish I had those skills. Serious question, do you exhibit them anywhere or sell them?

Aw thanks! I used to have a clothing company on the side from my main career, so I would do photoshoots for the catalogues, etc. After the divorce, I still had a number of friends in the industry that I know of, and I still do shoots for their clothing lines or fashion shows. My girlfriend is usually the model for these companies, and she's taking fashion design at Ryerson, so we're still pretty well exposed to it all of the time. I don't display the stuff, but it does pop up and appear occasionally in magazines or ads. I've got a few more odd local locations to post, so when someone posts the answer about this spot, I'll do a new thread with a new location!

I'm just learning phtography as a hobby amazed at all your lightings and like the depth dimensional shot in that one with the girl standing in the foyer in front of the no smoking sign. The lone girl sitting in the rock rubbles that is sick how you're able to focus the details onto her and that one big rock while blurring out the rest. Wish I could shoot like you lol. Just learning aperature now.

Yeah well in the meantime if you could be more productive by knowing if anyone in the area of east gta can help me I'm stranded on the side of the road. Just made a post. Please anyone in the area help!

I'm guessing the Gladstone Hotel.

Amazing photography.... your artistic inclinations seem to have an eerie zombie apocalypse kind of feel... comes through in ur home decor as well... lol.

Home now after getting the flatbed to drop my bike off in my garage, helmet in my hand. Engine is quite seized. Sigh. RetroGrouch, it IS a hotel, I'm impressed! But not Gladstone. This is from the Oshawa area, and has a connection to James Bond...

AngelEyez, thank you for the compliments. I do have other dystopian photoshoots to post lol... but I DO have other more "vanilla" shoots as well.

Well it's been long enough without the right answer, so here we go!

It's the Genosha Hotel in Oshawa.

Damnit i just saw this and was going to the Genosha(given your "location"), what a sh!thole building did you get all your shots before you entered?. You do some damn fine work my friend, what type of gear do you use?

Also have you found a good motorcycle pack that carries camera gear?

Heck, Ian Flemming, author of the James Bond series stayed here while training at Camp X in Whitby. When he started writing his novels, seeing from his window St James Church on Bond St may have had some influence...

Nevertheless, bad management and poor decisions made it go downhill over the years, with it getting worse with each owner running the place.

We had to wear masks during the cleanup phases, as there were thousands of dead birds and animals everywhere

In its day it was pretty "swell" but for the past 30 years or so it has deteriorated drastically, thanks for the peek inside.

Are you able to tell us the gear you use? Also have you found a motorcycle friendly riding pack for you camera?

Depending on the photo, it was either shot with a Sony A330, A55, or a Pentax K7. There were others from the shoots that had film but that was for more of the horror shoot shot there and don't really fit in this post.

The bags I've got are just Pentax branded bags, as they hold a laptop and an SLR with various lenses. Here's a link:

This one is just an over the shoulder sling http://www.pentaxwebstore.com/product/9486

The backpack is great because it attaches across the chest, and waist.

Those are some great bags. I bought a Kata 3n1 33 2 years ago and its great for travelling but not for riding, it's also much bigger then i need it to be.

You have a great set up. Please post when you do more.
