The closest hydrant, a couple doors down, has been painted white.
I know the colours on hydrants are a code, fresh/not fresh water, pressure etc.
Is it illegal to paint them?

The hydrants in my neighbourhood (North Ajax) have been painted white as well - I was assuming just primer before a repaint.

Maybe that's the case here (Hamilton), but I've only seen one.

Sounds like a pretty boring street.

Ya, it's like yours, without the sand.

Mine wouldn't be out of place in Sunnyvale. Just need to draw straws to see who plays the part of The Hole (probably me).

And the cats are all WMDs.

*edit*

The street got swept (finally). It's walnut season now.

Ours were all recently primed in white and have since been given the final color

Ours have these long yellow things attached to them, so that they can be found in the snow:

You can see it's been removed and stuck in the snowbank behind.
