August 6,7,8 - 3 day tour
Approximately 1,100km
I had problems loading the routes onto my iPad so I got a late start close to 10:00 am.
There was just a few sprinkles of rain but I soon outran the parsipitation with only cloud thevrest of the day.
The central road thru Gatineau Park is now closed to vehicles other than bicycles.
What a waste of a beutiful road!!
There are still some roads open in the "Park" so it is still a good ride.
I got to the end of the road going into Meech Lake but was forbiden entry to the Prime Ministers cottage. (see link)
by a double row steel gate and guard house.
I am sure they where taking pictures of me taking this picture.
The road in is in horrible condition but I guess it doesn't matter if you have acess to a helicopter!
Day 1
August 7th I got an early start at 8:00 am
Temperature was in the high teens with max at 24 degrees and sunny.
The pictures below show someone has a lot of time on there hands.
photos taken near end of road at Malloy Bay (furthest point north on map)
Lunch was at a bit of Canadianana, a small town Ma & Pa, Chinese restaurant.
They worked all there lives to raise a family and put the children thru college.
When they are to old too run the restaurant it will probably close and become just another abandoned building along with the Garage,
General Store and Post Office.
Ducks attacking my bike at Murrays Motel in Dacre
Day 2
Thursday I was on the road again by 8:00 am withe some high cloud that got heavier as the day went on.
There was a small shower just south of Verona but I did not need to put on my rain gear.
Jeans where dry by the time I got home.
Stopped at the hydro dam on the Madawaska River
Breakfast was at Wheelers Pancake House near MacDonals's Corners.
Day 3
I was at the motel early Wednesday so went exploring and found there are paved roads fron Dacre to CR508
See dotted line.
