Fell Today in Kitchener

Not sure exactly how it happened, but I was taking a right turn, on victoria from king. My way was clear, I've taken this right numerous times. But today I think I leaned the bike a little too much and when i gave it gas, my back tires slipped. The frame slider took most of the initial shock and the impact threw me off the bike. Bike damage; frame slider probably needs to be replaced and the front indicator light came off. I twisted my ankle, got a few cuts and bruises and scraped my helmet. I was wearing full gear (i dont have pants or riding boots, now I feel the need for boots). I guess I was kinda lucky, could have been worse. Never thought it'd happen turning right.
Stay safe out there guys.

Glad you`re ok man. Happens to everyone sooner or later.

Hmmm were you consistent on the throttle all the way through the turn or gave it gas mid way in the turn? I've always thought the bike was more stable when you're consistent in power delivery to the rear...

Get well soon!

get well soon, glad you are here to tell about it. Use this as a way to get mechanically acquainted with your bike.

Very busy interesction with lots of cabs, trucks and service vehicles.I'm guessing some coolant or deisel fuel was on your line.

yep...what he said... too much crap on city streets...save the leaning for the boonies. Brake going in smooth going out and resist the urge to giv'er til youre pretty much upright again.. Learned the hard way....

Had a near spill myself about 6 weeks ago on that "s" area on spadina between college and harbord. There was the teeniest bit of gravel and I straightened up just in time for my rear wheel to skip for a split second causing a quick jerk. It can happen at any time.

I'm guessing he wasn't constant on the throttle. There was no mention on debris

I can't say enough about boots. I wiped out this weekend at mosport and while my leg and knee are bruised to crap, my ankle and foot are completely fine. I have a pair of a* smx plus boots and the accident broke off the slider insert on the heel of the boot and the boot is scratched to **** but it did its job flawlessly. I don't expect anyone on the roads to be in such a serious boot, but man do they ever do their job well.

I feel the same way, my left leg was inbetween a Hyundai and my SV when we impacted and you can actually see the outline of my boot.

Good to hear you're alright. Now go buy yourself some boots as a self-gift :)

It looked like something was on the road at that intersection. Coming home from work, turning left onto victoria from king, there was someone spreading dirt, or something like that around over what looked like a very slick right lane. Not sure when it happened to you, but maybe there was something on the lane before it was cleaned up.

Or the OP left some oil' for ya ;)
