Ahem so I was going onto an onramp from airport to hwy 427 someone was very close behind me and I was half paying attention to them and half to the curve infront and I reacted badly by slowing down end up going to the left side too much bike was on gravel by then slipped skidded and fell over luckily I had slowed down enough. The bike itself right side fairing is scartched with lines on it some other issues I have with it shifting seems to be ok but as I pulled in this morning first gear, clutch in all the way about to finish parking soon as I put the stand down the bike turned off with the clutch held in I don't think this should happen it didn't before I also wanted to get the rest of the bike checked up at a shop; I live in Brampton and work downtown Toronto near king and jarvis does anyone have any suggestions where I can get a check up done on the bike and any minor repairs as I think that is what it needs, thank you.

Kickstand down in gear should shut the bike off - it's an interlock to prevent you from riding away with the kickstand down. That first left hander may catapult you off the bike with the stand down.....or just make a horrible grindy noise.

You were still in gear with the clutch pulled in correct? if yes its a normal thing.

Thanks for the quick response, other things I can think of are... if handlebars are straight wheel is a bit off slightly needs to recenter the bars I might be able to do that myself not entirely sure. Break lever feels a bit funny was tight and smooth before kinda loose now but it works the plugs for the front brake lever did come out when I fell off I quickly put those back in but they maybe loose as well.

Among other things, you'll need to check if any of the cables got pinched during the crash, otherwise, you could lose one.

Thanks a lot.

Ouch, sorry to hear about you get off.
The worst thing about black bikes, is any scratch is MUCH easier to see than on a light colored bike.
What plug are you talking about? The metal screw with the nut, or the rubber guard? If it's the screw, you should be able to just fiddle with screwing it in/out to find the right tightness spot for the line.
Check your chain for slack. When I got off my bike, the chain loosened up (and even came off the sprocket (thankfully only rear!)) you may need to tighten it up.
Check to make sure no hoses or lines are pinches.
Check all bolts and screw to make sure they didn't get loosened.
Does the bike sound different when it runs now?
Check the rear brake lever. And pretty much anything that's on the right side of the bike.

I can tell looking at the picture:
The suzuki emblem on the starter cover is gone. Did you pick it up after the crash?

I can give it a quick lookover if you want me to.

And, most importantly: are you okay?

Hey man I'll go over your list, yes I'm fine minor scrape on my knee but my jeans didn't even rip so that's all really, I did pick up the Suzuki emblem, the bike does sound a little different than before a bit more noisier but that could be cables or other things that were tied down are no longer secure. For the front brake I'm taking about the wire that has two prongs right under the handgrip if those are not plugged in the front brake will not work as I discovered and quickly put those back in. . And yes I'd like it if you could take a quick look over it when you are free and then you can also inspect the tape job lol. I also found it slightly funny that.. all the places I put tape were completely unharmed...

Oh! Also the handlebars are no longer aligned with the front wheel they are slightly to the right and then the front wheel is straight hoping the forks are ok.
Update: Had a friend look at it he thinks the cables all seem fine but everything else will need to be checked over he thinks the front wheel is not aligned because the triple needs to be readjusted as readjusting the handlebars had a minor affect on the front wheel.

Ouch, sorry to hear about you get off.

On the bright side... it will still look really cool in the dark :p

Also looks like one of those bullet hole stickers that other put on their bikes. Come up with a good story and keep it the way it is. People love good stories and battle scars are cool. LOL

If you interested in having someone look at your bike look up ACE Moto Tech in Milton. Good guy good rates.

Good luck and ride safe.
