Feeble green

Alternative energy sources are getting better. And they need to. How we get there is sometimes quite feeble tho. Wind farms come to mind.
I'm going "green" with my new trials ride, but i have no idea on the manufacturing of it's impact on the environment.
Getting it from Spain has been interesting. Transport from Barcelona to the sea. Shipping container to Montreal. Trucked to cbsa for inspection. Trucked to railyard for transportation to Vancouver. Trucked to dealer in Tsawwassen BC. Trucked to Brantford. Picked up with Rav4 towing trailer in eco mode.
My goal with this bike is to still compete in trials without a painful kickstart hip. It's not about being green.
I wonder how many other "green" things are as feeble?

Congrats. Are you finally building a course in your backyard now? You can practice without annoying neighbours.

The most i have never done is ride around the driveway. The 2t smoke is definitely not neighbourly.
I'll probably mess around in the yard a bit. Granddaughter too. The bike has 4 power modes. 125 200 250 and 300. All can be customized via bt from phone or laptop i am told.

I think we can look for ways to save energy costs, but getting to net zero will be impossible.
Enjoy your new purchase, don't worry about the "how it got to you" costs...

Net Zero is silly. Net minimum should be the name.

Net less. This is a start.

Every step of the purchasing process will need to be optimized if environmental impact is to be minimized. As for the sea container part, we already have recently had some successful sail powered cargo ships that have shown that’s viable at least.

Could be worse , you could mine nickle and lithium in Quebec , ship it to Sweden to be processed, ship that fancy battery to the Orient to get jammed into a Prius and sent back Toronto to be sold to some Birkenstock wearing granola head that will drone out at a hacky sac contest about being green.

How efficient is the trail side genie you’ll use to recharge that green thing?

Inverter off the rav is probably lower emissions than a generator. As he already said though, "green" is just a happy consequence of light and not-smelly. It will be hard for it to end up worse than a 2 smoke.

If the politicians want green they have to plant it. They want to minimize vehicle use but approve massive big box malls that are car dependent.

I think as long as the product has appeal and brings the smiles, the benefits of having less operating noise and an interesting power train should be enough.

I like making rooster tails with dirt bikes and sliding around greasy tracks for smiles. I hated the idea of 4 strokes but, learned to like them and found out they could be just as much fun. If they can make battery operated machines that pull wheelies and land a sweet table top, I’m game.
