exterior cable and telephone boxes on my house; property rights?

Who owns these and can I put a locking metal box over them? It says its "criminal" to open them up blah blah blah, but they're on my land, attached to my house. I recently cancelled my TV services and Rogers dispatched a tech who promptly disconnected my internet service as well  I don't want these morons touching anything on my property without me being present.

Thoughts?

If they can't access your box then they'll just disconnect it from the poll.

I put a label "TPIA" on the cable box and never had a problem.

I also had that label, and the idiots still screwed it up. I disconnected their useless crap and reconnected my cable directly. I'm not stealing a signal and I don't want television, I pay for my TekSavvy internet account so Im not doing anything illegal. But something tells me eventually some idiot will come along and disconnect it again?

I'm not preventing access, I'll let them into the box if they ask.

Do they jump the fences of all those multi-million dollar gated homes on the Bridle Path? I doubt it.

If you look through the paperwork I'm pretty sure you'll find someone allowed an easement which gives them the right to reasonable access. Same with Bell Hydro etc. They can prune trees etc to prevent interference. Knowing that they send butchers I do my own trimming. Once they have an easement they usually don't let go of it.
Short of a having pit bull chained to the box you aren't going to have much luck. Their call quota doesn't allow for exceptions.

Technically, that's not really true. There are easements for utilities (and other reasons) but they don't have an easement for every house.

They don't need to ask, to do their job

They can "do their job" at the CO or the pole.

Like I said a few posts ago, what do they do at those multi million dollar gated mansions? Do they ring the bell to be let in, or do they jump over the fence? I'm not preventing them access, I'm just limiting it to times when I'm present.

The people living in the gated mansions have the mayors and corporate CEOs on speed dial in case they don't like something. I was at one on a service call and it seemed the garbage men missed a bag. A city pickup truck was dispatched to correct the error.

At my place all thier crap ( bell and Rogers stuff ) is actually in my garage. They may want to access it but they have to arrange a time with me first. I do have to grant them access but at my convinence. So it will be please have some one there between 8 am and 2pm. Lol I know it won't work but I'd still try and then make them wait a half hour.

Thats nothing special. Ive had the city make an additional trip to get my garbage too. Just have to call and complain a bit. In my case the collectors were too lazy to open the lid of my large recycling bin!!! lol

They wont wait, you are not there, they leave, you do not get your service repaired/restored and then you will have to wait for them to come on the next avialable service date....

I know I'm saying if they want into the garage to check something for what ever reason. If I'm having problems I need to follow their rules I know.
