Excited to start riding!

Hello kids, Cassandra here in my very first post! Thought I'd take a few moments to introduce myself and why I'm here ...

I grew up with motorbikes as a kid, my parents being avid riders all throughout my childhood. Dad was always keen on getting my brother and I on the back of the bike (not at the same time!), teaching us how to lean into turns and tune-ups in the driveway. I wanted to carry on the tradition, so to speak.

There's also the economic reason; motorbikes, plainly put, are cheaper to buy, insure and maintain than a 'cage'. I need transportation and a car is way out of my budget right now. I also feel that if more people drove motorbikes on the road, we would have more considerate drivers. Can I have a witness on that? :)

My boyfriend Nick (you'll see him here as MusicMan) and I are signing up for Learning Curves' safety course in October, and afterwards will be looking to getting the bikes we've been salivating over for a year or so. Me? Go cruiser or go home- since I'm a young lady of petite stature, I've been looking at the Yamaha V-Star 250, and get a little more power as I get better.

Looking forward to making new riding buddies in the start of the new riding season! Any girl biker gangs out there looking for new members?

Ride safe! -Cassandra

Welcome to the board and welcome to riding. Enjoy your course and see you on the road.

Welcome and I'll be a witness to that. I'm sure Musicdude will fork out the cash on a cage when the snow flies....that's if he loves you enough.

Welcome. I rode a Yamaha Virago 250 for a year so I could get used to riding again. It was a great bike! I recently bought a 2012 Suzuki Boulevard M50 in Newmarket and my old bike is still there for sale.

Incidentally, my new bike is parked right in front of it in the pic lol.

Low mileage and ran great!

Welcome.
