Engine Shut Off at full stop.

So I was just about to get home and was stopped at a red light making a left turn. Foot is down. Clutch lever pulled in. Then I hear the engine sputter a bit and then shutoff about a second later. I hit the ignition and it started right up again.

I had just filled up on fuel. Didn't have to flip the kill switch back. Kick stand was fine (I had just got off the highway).

What could cause something like this to happen?

This is an 04 f4i.

Not too sure if it'll make any difference.. but I started putting Shell 91 in my tank and I had just finished off some 87 just before.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance! ;)

Check your plugs, sounds like misfire. Just change them if you don't know the last time they were changed.

Never knew F4i's were supposed to be run on 87 :) Learn something new every day! 91 octane will be harder for your engine to ignite, have you used 91 octane or higher in the past?

Your owners manual says 87, I would stick with that. Only use Shell 91 (and only Shell) for winter storage.
