Electrical question: LED flashing too fast, problem or not?

hi guys,
so installed LED integrated taillight on an 07 suzuki s40 and signals flash a bit faster than normal..
so first of all i know how the problem can be fixed, i need resistors.. what i wanna know is that if this is a problem or not?
do i really need to fix this? cause it works... please let me know if it's important to install resistors or is it fine to run it like that?

I have LEDs on my sv and ya it flashes quicker but I figure it grabs attention better than a slow blink. So leave it. It's still legal too.
 
You are fine with the flashers going a little faster & if you think about it they will get the people behind you their attention while you lane change or turn...
If you want them to flash at a normal rate then add the resistors for peace of mind!

no I am fine with the speed as long as it doesn't hurt the bike :)
 
Don't use resistors. Pick up a digital flasher relay from Royal for $15 and you'll never ever have problems again. Flawless blink rate no matter how much you mess with the bulbs in the future, and no resistors to fail on ya.

Your $38 one is probably plug and play, all the correct connectors for your bike, etc. That's a good price. The $15 one is a universal one, you have to put the right connectors on it or solder it into your bike.

ahh ok. ya mine is direct plug and play. its by rumble concepts.
 
I got a plug & play relay from China $20.
Its in transit, I'll let u guys know how it turns out

Flashing fast was a way to know if a light burnt out
 
The normal signal relays require a certain amount of resistance to cycle....hence why with an LED or a burnt out bulb they blink faster....by removing one bulb out of the equation we have lowered our resistance to the relay and it cycles faster....the issue here is if your incandescent bulb burns out there's a possibility that it wont cycle at all, loosing the LED blinker in the process...

with that being said, i run rear LED's and front incandescent. I can always signal till i can get a replacement.

I run front led & rear incandescent. I'd like the idiot in the back to see me
