Electrical Problem?

So I thought I had a battery problem or something causing a drain on my battery. I've always kept it on a tender when I'm not using it for long periods or storage during the winter.

I went to try and take my battery out the other day and tried charging it off the bike, and as soon as I disconnected both terminals from the battery, there's this loud buzzing noise like an alarm but not as loud. I do have an alarm on the bike but I don't use it.

So how can there be power to trigger a siren type noise when I've disconnected the battery and why would it go away when I connect it back?

My guess is I should try and find where the alarm is and disconnect it but not sure where.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

sounds like something is running even with the key off.

could it be some sort of security back up your alarm has, maybe when the 12v is caught off it figures that some one is attempting to steal and sounds off from a back up or a stored power source

hmmm... I can't even take it to a shop (don't want to tow it). Maybe I'll try disconnecting some stuff and see if I can get it.

Did you try the dis-arm switch once the battery was disconnected (understanding that you didn't have it armed but as mentioned, could be a security backup)?
