ECU reflash need for 09 R1, need shop recommendations

I need a reflash of the ECU on my 09 R1 to save my nuts from being smacked of the tank every time I let of the gas.

Any recommendations for a local shop to reflash the ECU, or would I be better of getting a Power Commander or custom tune ?

Reflashing the OEM ecu is a hack job at best


You'll need to find a shop that has the 09+ YEC kit electronics software package, plus the data connection cable.

This is going to be expensive.

You're better off buying a closed loop tuning system like the PowerCommander 5 or the Bazzaz Z-FI

Was not sure which way to go, but that kinda sums it up.

Funny, I had a Power Commander III on my RC 51 and thought that was quiet modern, now were on a PC V.

Like before I am assuming there are maps to be loaded from various sites.

No add-on device (Power Commander, Bazzaz, closed-loop device) is capable of overruling the deceleration fuel cut logic built into the stock ECU. The add-on devices also can not change the mapping of the throttles or exhaust EXUP valve or the rev limit or properly change the ignition timing. All of that can be changed only by re-flashing.

There are a few places that can do it although I know of none locally - and as noted previously, it won't be cheap.
