Economical Source for Starter on 99 Bandit 1200?

A rebuild kit is about $40 (4 brushes, brush plate and new power stud), add a couple of bearings, labour... why bother if new is $132?

After replacing the starter, I realized that it was not the problem. I removed the left engine case and found that the crank bolt was totally loose. The starter was turning but not contacting the gear mechanism because it was off-line. Thanks again to every body for their help.
