EBC Prolite rotors.... Organic pads ???

I'm purchasing a rear rotor ( EBC ProLite ) and many people are saying that a sintered pad is not the way to go and i should purchase an organic pad. Has anyone experienced there ProLite rotor being eaten up by the HH pads from EBC? or a sintered pad destroying it? I am not interested in buying a second rotor for the next 2 - 3 seasons ( maybe less ? ) but i definitly want to put the right stuff on any ideas? i want to do this once!

Why are you going with a light rear rotor?

ok, I'll bite.

Just go with a regular pad. The sintered pads are known to shorten brake rotor life.

Ok?

I've used EBC HH pads on the front of my Rocket and like the extra braking they afford. Even after several years I've not noticed excessive rotor wear and would have no hesitation in recommending them. I would question the need ,though,on the rear ? Why not stick with organic?

Well, currently I am unsure what pads on are the rear brakes..... and I've noticed that the rotor had someone riding metal on metal. So I am going to be replacing the rotor but many of my buddys are saying the sintered pads ruin rotors very quick, and I'd much rather go through pads then rotors.. plus I've got a great deal for the rotor brand new 140$ plus tax.

try using the front brake more often and quit using the rear brake pedal as a foot rest

I have 135k on my stock front rotors. The last about 100k have been with EBC HH rotors. I can tell they are starting to wear because they are getting close to the minimum required thickness but then again they are 135k old at this point.

I think you meant Pads....

But 135K or 75K or 50K or 10K or 3K....its all about how they are being used. 135K and the rotors are still straight, that's pretty impressive. But if they are all easy touring km's, then it doesnt surprise me.

No I meant pads. I burn thru pads every 20 or 25k km. the stock pads went about 35k. With the bike weighing in at about 900lbs loaded with luggage not including me the bike likes to eat pads.
