ebay fairings/plastics kits

So there's a million people selling complete fairing kits on ebay now. Two questions:

which sellers, generally, have the best quality kits?--it's difficult to tell from pictures alone.

were you hit with duty/taxes or extra fees on arrival?

anything else one should be aware of?

they're all going to be a fair bit of work to install. they don't line up perfectly, some tabs will be missing to mount headlights, tail lights, etc.

what bike is it for?

Depends on the bike.

China has some molds that are way off (F4i is bad), and some that are perfect (07/08 GGSXR600/750)

I found a spot in this area that sells plastic fairings that are oem replicas with oem paint and stickers...
Zarix Cycle 416 509 0965.

Haven't ordered from them as of yet but,....it may be another option without duties etc

+1 for Zariz Cycle (www.zarizcycle.com)

Got my fairings for my ninja from there, fit great, no problems.

I know they got a couple bikes in their shop with replaced fairings on them to see quality.

I know a bunch of people on this forum got windscreens from Zariz, dont know about fairings but mine were great.

i heard alot of horror stories about ebay purchases, and if they dont fit youre S.O.L. look at reviews.

check out www.nicecycle.com free shipping and better selection then ebay, guaranteed fit.

Auctmarts1 have the best reviews.

They have many "perfect fit" options for newer bikes. I have seen only a few holes have to be enlarged for fitment.

Other than that, all china fairings seem to need heat shield material applied after. (or they melt/bubble)

I will be ordering from them this week.

What year/bike do you have?

click below to see mine, they were auctmart. He claims to have a new improved line with a better grade of plastics. Sure wasnt better on mine, i am still fixing and repairing. If they werent so cheap to buy, I would of preffered buying OEM and doing my own paint.

Do yourself a favour and add auctmarts on msn and haggle with them. The best I was able to get was something like $490 US shipped to my door with whatever paint scheme for an 05 Zx6R... I never ended up buying them got OEMs instead for twice the price but they were local.

Auctmarts turned out to be awesome. 490US shipped. No duty or additional charges on delivery. I asked for custom colouring--which turned out excellent. Good communication (minor language barrier though). They included every tiny little piece of extra plastic needed which look and feel very close to OEM. They also included solo seat, windshield, and tank protector. Nearly perfect fit and finish. 2007 CBR1000RR.

Glad it worked out well for you. If I ever need bodywork again no I no doubt will be going with them.

What about heat shielding? A) Was there any? B) If yes, was it the good stuff or the cheap foam? Their price for a full kit is cheaper than a respray and my paint is getting pretty chipped, scuffed and scratched.
