duct cleaning phone calls

I've been getting calls from them 3 times a day on my home line for the last two months. Told them numerous times not to call, yet they keep on calling me from different numbers. Searched online about these duct calling telemarketers, and they are hired by local duct cleaning enterprises to make these phone calls by Pakistani telemarketers. So today i gave my one month notice to Rogers home service to cancel my home phone, which incidentally these calls began when I switched my home phone number from bell to rogers. I'm concerned if these f**kers get a hold of my cell phone number...what do I do then?

everytime i see a duct cleaning truck on the road, I get these violent thoughts going in my head.

Several ways to get your own back...

Agree and set up appointments...then make sure you're not around when they call. Eventually the companies contracting out the calls will realise they are losing money spending it on gas going to non-existant calls.

Tell them you have no ductwork..I did this and oddly most of the calls stopped.

Tell them you'd like to think about it and can you call them back...if they give you a number send that number to as many spam sites as you can.

Get rid of your home phone, if you're jumping providers why not just upgrade your cell plan and save money? Also most phones (read: Android) will let you block numbers.

You gave up way to easy!

I was in the same boat, i used to get these calls numerous times throughout the day.

Set up an appointment, but send them to your local police dept or a neighbour you hate.

2. When they ask how big your house is, tell em 12,000 sq feet. and you have 12 bedrooms.

3. When they go on their sales pitch, pretend they are talking about DUCKS and not ducts. Ask every question possible about ducks, and how they clean them and keep them quiet.

4. I use this one on the Microsoft telemarketing scams now too. It seems to work quite well.
Have your computer on and start playing a porn. Start talking about how the guy is ramming the chick. Get EXTREMELY graphic.
Than start telling the guy about the sites you visit and the movies you like watching. Than pretend while hes talking to rub one out, and tell him to keep talking.
Start moaning and screaming into the phone, and call him your dirty ***** whore numerous times.

If they are still on line after 3 minutes, they are on their way to your house to murder you.

Thankyoucomeagain.

They FINALLY added blocking to iOs 7. Which will be useful for blocking the ever-increasing number of robocalls telling me I won a free cruise.

+1 on this one

Caller ID. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. If it's important, they will leave a message. It's surprising how many calls I get from numbers I don't know, and how few of them leave messages.

If your cell is with Rogers, just sign up with Rogers one number, it's free and really handy. Your can block calls from there.

Option 1/ Say "Please call back later when the wife is home as I cannot understand or speak a single word of English except these two dozen" Repeat as needed.

Option2/ Say "Your call is very valuable to me" Repeat as needed.

Read these gems off of cue cards or hare scrambles roll chart.

Just say to them, glad you called I just got back from hunting, I have lots of ducks to clean, they will day not ducks, but ducts, then you keep saying yes I hear you and i have lots to be cleaned, it was a very successful hunting trip, and i killed lots of ducks.

Or the....just a second.....then go watch tv

Inferno's #4 sounds like an easy sexual harassment case, particularly if they actually have the recording equipment they all pretend to

How is it harassment if he is the one being solicited and why did they stay on the line so long?

You normally get a delay when you say hello. I delay my answers by a couple of seconds and tell them there must be something wrong with the phone.

Lol! I know how you feel. Used to get a lot of nuisance calls, too, and as much as they're trying to sound like an american, the callers had a different foreign accent. Surely, they're people outside US. And they were really annoying, never listened to request to stop calling. It's when I decided to register my phone number on the DNC list which took effect after 30 days. The number of calls lessened, but a few of them continued.

By the way, you can easily contact your telephone service provider and have them add the caller's phone number on your block list. That should stop the calls. Also, it's important that you report the nuisance caller to http://www.callercenter.com and post his phone number there. Others can definitely learn from your experience.
