I've seen people take rental cars on the track. It's all about having fun by pushing yourself and the vehicle to the limit, not just lap times.

Totally agree! It's actually better this way than fighting for the last tenth.

I've seen people roll their personal vehicles on the track as well. Usually it's not on the asphalt, but when they slide off it sideways and their tires catch in the grass. Unless it was a Suzuki Samurai...
