Hello,I got an 09 1198 with a single black key and no code card. Do you know anybody that can make an extra key for the bike. It says that the key is chipped and Ducati dealer can't do it. Any info greatly apreciated.Thanks
 
have you tried GP bikes?
 
There should be a code card and a RED key. The dealer should be able to help or provide an override. Speak with Apex in Waterloo, they get this stuff.
 
Don't you find that kinda weird that you didnt receive the other key or key card?

Can the Ducati dealership not help by pulling the vin off the frame?
 
Hi, we CAN make extra keys for Ducati's. The process is more complicated than just cutting a copy form a blank key. First of all the blank needs to be a chipped programmable key (original Ducati keys are not programmable). Second, the blade needs to be copied/cut, for some models its a laser cut key. Third, you need a special key cloner device, capable of copying the information from your original key to a new blank. In this way you don't need a code card, we are just creating a new key with an old key transponder code. Not CanadianTire cheap but doable. Good Wheel Motors Inc
