DUCATI DAY RIDE 2012 (d.d.r. #1)

Ok folks, sorry for such short notice and last minute planning. DDR #1 for this Saturday morning June 23rd.

Myself and 2 other riders are in for sure (mojo & donzo). ONLY DUCATI models welcome please. It will be an early half day ride as we wind up for more D.D.R's to come. We are planning an early meet and departure. Moderate paced ride with a few twisties, no stunting or nonsense. Occasional fuel & bladder relief stops.

Meet around 7:00am and depart SHARP by 7:30am, so arrive with a full tank. Destination: up to either Muskokas or 507, and then an early return to be back in the GTA around 2:00ish pm.

UPDATE: MEETING LOCATION @ FAMOUS SAM's in Stouffville on the North East corner of Woodbine & Stouffville Side Rd. (just east of the 404)

My opening sentence included my apologies. I agree its really short notice, but its a start. Will plan the next one a couple weeks in advance.

Not only short notice, but holy batjeezuz that's early in the mornin ahaha.

Re: Ducati day ride 2012 (d.d.r. #1)

If you ever have a DDR into Hamilton/ Niagara areas let me know. I'll be in for sure.
0700 in GTA... Means 0600 leave from niagara... Means 0515 wake upon a Saturday.
F**** that.

the early bird catches the worm. Heading out nice and early, so by the time we get up to the twisties in cottage country there will not be any traffic or congestion. Plus the temperature will be comfortable for riding. Come out and join us for a nice ride!

I cant do the (DDR) this time guys. Hopefully see you on Thursdays L and L (DER) run.

....too bad ......ride sounds amazing!!!

Next time.......... Sammy!

No worries. I was expecting a big turn out anyways with such short notice. If you change your mind, feel free to join us at the meeting spot.

Well that was a blast! Hit up the Muskoka twisties, and we had grins on our faces from ear to ear. Sorry for all those that wanted to come but couldnt because of such short notice.

I do strongly suggest that the departure time remains somewhat the same. Leaving early allows ample time to get to the destination without any traffic or congestion and makes all the lovely winding roads much more enjoyable!

Stay tuned for the next DDR#2 sometime in July.

Jeez guys... I haven`t been on this site since last year, and this is the turnout I see for a DDR?

Thought to myself this morning "I wonder if the GTAM Ducs are carrying on the tradition this year". Because I went out for wings last night in Oshawa and parked next to an 1198s Corse Special Edition. So I just logged in and realized you guys just tried to plan one for yesterday. It looks like you need me to return as your "professional DDR organizer and cameraman" again. LOL!!!

Well, not too long after the last DDR last year (I think 3.0?). My wife and I found out we were pregnant with our first child (due date on July 25th... VERY soon). So the Monster had to go :( and I needed a practical ride with back seats, so I picked up a VW GTI. Long story, short, I unfortunately cannot join you guys this year. I haven't chatted with Giovanni ("ducatigio") since I sold my bike, but I know he's still around as I see him doing test rides on the bikes he is servicing near my house.

I'll be back to join you guys in about 2 years, when I'll probably pick up a nice and gently used 848 for a good price.

I sold my bike ('07 Monster 695 with the custom #18 on the seat cover), to a guy in Mississauga last October, who apparently sold it again last month, not doing any changes/mods to it... if you guys see it on the road, gimmie a heads up I'm interested to see how the bike further evolves through its ownership.

All the best,
Repooc

...... Agreed about the start time! Many benefits, included having the rest of the day to reflect to the great ride that just happened!

Looking forward to the next one.....

Hi Tristan - Congrats on the baby! Glad to hear you're doing ok, and many thanks for doing such a great job with organizing the DDR events last year. Hope that you'll eventually be able to make it back to the Ducati family. I've talked with Giovanni about rides this year and he's been very busy (and asking about you), Sam and I talked and are trying to start up some rides this year but work and personal obligations leaves very little time for planning rides.

For all other Duc family members, please feel free to try and startup some DDR rides, I don't mind helping with route planning or riding lead/sweep but I don't have time to tackle planning a whole event.
