Hi,
I read the MTO site and it says speeding tickets will be kept on record for 2 years. I was wondering how long the insurance companies would usually keep?
Thanks!

Same, they only see whats on the abstract.
Thing is its 2 years from conviction.

Thanks Paul!
I got 2 speeding tickets recently in 3 months on my car! Both have been reduced to 15km over, and I paid the first ticket (my first ever speeding ticket in 20 something driving years!). Now I still evaluate my options for the 2nd ticket and want to take it to court hoping the cop won't show up (opp, New market). The bad thing is the crown prosecutor will reverse the reduced charge and keep the original charge before trial. Can I have some meaningful inputs/advices please?

I thought its 3 years for tickets and 2 for demerit points...

pretty sure... government is 2 years and insurance looks at 3 years... if you go to on TD quote site you will see they ask for 3 years record...

Pretty sure it's 2 years from date of offence for points and stays on your abstract 3 years from date of conviction.

Even if you don't win against your second ticket, by the time the trial comes around the first ticket will likely fall off the radar?

they don't take that long...or else everyone would just be getting off on 11b

I may consider hiring a professional to handle my 2nd speeding ticket as I can't afford keeping 2 convictions for the next 3 years on the abstract. Can someone recommend me a reputable professional to represent me please? How much am I looking at to pay the service?
Thanks!

3 for every insurance company I've spoken with.

I've read on here that some (StateFarm?) want 5 years but I don't know for sure.

If I let a professional to take care of the ticket for me, do they usually take over right away and they would handle all the paperwork including filing a Notice of Intention To Appeal and Request For Disclosure?

They would handle it all, as long as you present them with the information in a timely manner.

I've never seen minor tickets that are 2 years to be cleared. It's 3 years, and 5 years for major.
2 years is just the demirt points that are on your record from conviction.
