A friend of my wife always wanted to ride a motorcycle but her father said no. When she got married her husband said no, think of the children.

They're both gone and the kids on their own so she thought an electric scooter, Vespa style would be fun. A friend wisely suggested she ride her bicycle a bit to get her balance skills back. Unfortunately she fell and cracked a bone in her leg so she's canned the whole idea. She's 85.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the rider down forum.

reminds me of my father in law, he loves triumphs being a proper anglophile like myself, but he never got around to riding bikes, too dangerous, people didnt approve, now he wants to and has the money to, but hes old and his vision aint good

He should get a Morgan 3 wheeler :)

honestly, good for her. A cracked bone will always let her know she at least went for it, instead of living her entire life wishing she rode.

Sometimes a little bit going wrong is good for people. A friend bought a small sailboat and he and his wife took his MIL out for a ride. They tipped it over dumping the old gal in the lake. He said it was the best thing that ever happened to her. When she got back to the seniors complex, slightly wet, she had something to talk about beside How's your tea.

Adventure is discomfort recounted at leisure.

That which does not kill us, makes for a great story at a later time.

Cool story bro :) J/K, She's 85 and still active enough? Good for her! Reminds me of the Mandelbaums from Seinfeld.
