As the title says, I am looking for donations (aka free or as cheap as possible) of used laptops/tablets/surfaces for my grade 2 class...I have quite a few students that are unidentified (meaning not identified with a special education exceptionality/need) that struggle with writing but seem to do well with technology...problem is, there aren't enough units in the school for everyone (I'm borrowing two from our special education teacher, but I'm sure she'll need them for her students sometime in the future) and there isn't enough money to purchase more...really, I'm looking for something that has word processing (creating and saving word documents) capabilities...doesn't have to be fancy, just something that I can help these kids with in getting the thoughts inside their heads down on paper without the use of pencil and paper...pm me if you can help or post here if you have any suggestions as to where to look/go...I'm in Milton btw...thanks! :)

I can't really help as I don't have a tablet of my own, but I'll ask the guys at work etc.
As the parent of an autistic child I'd really just like to say thanks for caring enough to go the extra mile for these students. It really does make a huge difference in their lives. I know because I live it every day. :)

I know that type of kid. Doesn't the board have any way to help the individual kid? My board does...sometimes.

I have a cheap tablet i bought on a whim that i no longer use.
Yours for free if you wan to come get it from me in Scarborough...

Google sells $199 Chromebooks to educators. Just a general FYI.

I have a working laptop you can have. Got to come to Guelph or nearby to snag it though. I also have a Netbook which needs to have the hard drive reformatted and windows reinstalled. That one is free as well.

hi clem...thanks for the offer, but i don't have the space for a workstation...appreciate it though...cheers!

Well that answers my question. I was going to offer the same. I have 2 desktops sitting at home right now and can probably get another skid full.
