Does This Heat Make Your Bike Feel Sluggish?

Hey Gtam

I wanted to see how everyone else's motorcycles are coping with this heat wave we're having.

I have a 2006 Kawasaki NInja ZX636 ... has approx 5,000 KM on it.

Anyways, I'm trying to narrow down issues that i may have other then the heat making my bike feel sluggish and doesn't want to get up to speed as quick as it did, lets say a week or 2 ago.

I do have a weird minor tick that only occurs when the bike is sitting upright, doesn't do it when i rev or have the bike leaned on the kick stand, or when its cold, i'd have to be riding for more then 20 minuts before this tick can be heard. I've had Kahuna, and Z1 Cycletech tell me the same thing, that what i'm hearing may just be cam chain noise, and should only worry about it if it gets incredibly louder, which it hasn't

So yeah, i'm hoping that the heat is causing my bike to feel sluggish, and not something more serious

High humidity and temperature negatively affect engine performance.

I know it sounded like noob question, but thank you for replying ! .. I know temps like the ones were having now, and the humidity can impanty engine performance, so thats why I want to make sure that its not my bike having an issue, and just the heat making it run like poop

Yes and its the exact opposite when its cold out, your bike will feel turbo charged in comparison to a hot day

Just got home from a ride, tonight the bike felt like it had an extra 20hp and the throttle response was very sharp. 2-3 nights ago when it was really humid the bike felt the same way as you describe...

Yeah exactly,
today was another hot day out. Coming home from work around 7pm i needed to down shift a gear to get up a hill, usually that doesn't happen to me when i'm riding at a steady rate of speed approaching a hill.
