I haven't heard any talk about the Ducati Grand Bend weekend on the 25th. Anyone from here heading up for the weekend? If the weather is good I'm planning on finally getting some laps in.

My brother and I just signed up for the Saturday. Yellow Ducati Sport Classic and Red Honda Superchicken. Come say hi. It will be our first time at GB.

I'll be there for the Racer5 Friday, but can't make it for the weekend.

murf - I did the monday day at Mosport last May. I bought the membership and rode (r6) - had a great time. It was indicated I would be able to go to GB with the membership, but that doesn't jive with what the website is saying.....

Ya, i think they normally open it up when the dont have enough riders? Mondays at Mosport are normally open to all bikes I believe?

GB is an awesome track (I'm new so not alot to compare to). The town is really close to the track, maybe 5-10 min before you at everything. Lots of room for camping and a big pit area. Even the showers there are great..better than at home. I read somewhere on the docc site that it would be open to all bikes and there was a weekend membership available..but double check with docc, I could've read it wrong.
If the weather is good, I'll be there with my black 944, can't miss the big black and white horse trailer I tow her in!
Hey Dozer, Whats going on Friday with Racer5? is it a track day or ??

It has indeed been opened up to all bikes. Also, you can sign up for just one day rather that the whole weekend. They will let you buy a special $10 membership instead of the normal $35 one, if you just need it so you can attend this one event. I don't think any of this is on the website so you need to email them directly.

I have only attended one other DOCC track day (Mosport this past May) but it was extremely well run. They have a few quirks though. 1. They require you to run numbers on your bike, and they assign (or at least approve) the number to make sure it is unique in your group. You can just put them on with tape though. 2. They absolutely require Snell 2005. No 2005 or 2010 sticker inside your helmet, you don't ride, period. No exceptions. 3. You have to show your wristband every time you enter the track, which is a pain - you need to take off your glove. 4. Back protectors required. 5. They physically check all of your gear at the start of the day.

Yes - Monday was always open this year to all bikes. In the past they have opened it up but I always heard about it too late.

Dumb that they are giving out 10 dollar memberships now - woulda saved me some cash as I had to buy the full membership.

Racer5 track days (AFAIK) are always open track days and they run their school in the green group. So the school is combined with green track day riders.

Off topic but, do you tow with your 944? If you do that's awesome.

I think he meant Ducati 944 ;) That would be pretty cool to pull a Duc 944 with a Porsche 944, even though it's not a real Porsche. LOL

uh oh..here comes the Porsche front vs rear debate!
double 944 would be funny though. Horse trailer is just a little too heavy for a 944...if you wanted to keep it for long.

Front vs rear engine? Bah. They stopped being the real deal when they added liquid cooling.

Oh, same for Ducati. :)

Hey..My Duc is liquid cooled...I think as long as it sounds like you've got a can of spare nuts and bolds inside the bike when you're at idle then its a duc! lol
Not going to go the Porsche route (I loved the 929 s4).
