Do you put your motorcycle insurance on fire+theft coverage onlyduring winter months?

Refer to sticky thread about cancelling a State Farm policy.

Thank you, I was able to find the % weight for winter months. But I am not cancelling my policy, I just want to put it on fire+theft during the winter months (as if i m on vacation), Is that possible?

No, it is not possible. Although you aren't cancelling your entire bike policy, you are essentially cancelling your Liability and Accident Benefits coverages, and the chart would apply for those premiums. FYI, LB and AB make up the vast majority of your premium.

if any thing happened to your bike i.e fire/theft how do they determine the amount granted? does it have anything to do with the amount stated on the bill of sale? since people lie in order to pay less taxes.

No, I just went through insurance on a claim and the BOS was for $4000 and they offered me $4,900 if they wrote my bike off.
I tokk a cash payout though and am doing the repairs myself..

You get paid the fair market value, regardless of how much you paid for your vehicle. If you got a wicked deal on a bike for $3000 that normally sells in the local traders for $5000, the insurance company will pay out $5000 (minus the deductible) in the event of a total loss.
