DIY vibration/sound absorbing pads: where to get supplies?

Anyone know where I can get supplies to make my own vibration/sound absorbing pads?

I got my pads custom made (pic below), but need to get 2 dozen more. They're costly ($32 each), so figured it's just better to buy the supplies and make them myself.

Thanks for any replies!

Is this for acoustically treating a room? ****'s a blackart and there is a method to the madness of the construction (sandwiching various materials to absorb/deflect/redirect soundwaves). I'd categorize this as a non-DIY project. (you can do 'well', but not as good as off the shelf products)

Thanks for the reply BMWWW!

Sorry, should have mentioned its use. I put these pads underneath the legs of industrial sewing machine tables. Some of these machines can get quite loud, and I need to control the amount of sound/vibration transmission to the floor below me.

Each pad is pretty small: 4-3/8" x 4-3/8" with a thickness of 1". It has three layers (as shown): 2 layers of rubber and 1 metal plate.

Air handling equipment pads?

The product used to be called Regupol, but it looks like he is selling it as ISO-SEP now.

He knows his stuff and can lead you in the right direction. They should be substantially less than $32 ea.

You could also do what everybody else does and use premade neoprene-steel-neoprene (NSN) pads (although you will likely need a layer of steel on top to spread the load). Like these from Kinetics http://www.kineticsnoise.ca/hvac/npng.html

GreyGhost, thanks for the reply!

Funny you should mention Wilrep, b/c I actually got my pads from them. :laughing6: Maybe I should talk to them about a cheaper alternative (like maybe a sheet of that Acoustifloat you mentioned, and I'd just cut it to size myself).

I also definitely look into that NSN, too! Thanks for letting me know about both products!

Also, for those looking for anti-vibration pads, I found these: http://www.andrehvac.com/rsr-series-p-55-1.php . Don't know how good they are. But, they are much, much, much cheaper than what I paid, which was $32/pad.
