Can anyone recommend a good brand of disc lock and where to buy one? The more compact the better as I have no storage place on the bike, so it will have to fit in a pocket.

In your pocket? :S I wouldn't want to fall with a disk-lock on me. On my first bike I really got tired of carrying it around cuz of that, so I used it mostly at home. On my current bike it fits on the little trunk but I only use it at home or certain areas.
I do have a question for others, where is it better to put it front or back wheel?

Only one I've ever used (or have experience with). I have their XX-14 (had it for a few years), no complaints.
Only ever tried it on my front brake, to be honest (never tried on my back brake).

You're right - probably not the best idea. Should be able to fabricate a bracket for it, I guess.
I have a small MasterLock which I put onto the rear disc wherever I park. It won't stop a determined thief I'm sure, but hopefully it'll deter any casual passerby. It fits in the palm of my hand and stores under the seat nicely so it's handy at all times.
