Dirtbiking trip in the US

I'm planning a dirt biking trip in the US and I have a questions about the border crossing. When I cross the border to and from do I need to show any paperwork for my dirtbike(it'll be on the trailer behind my car)? How does it work? Thanks in advance.

They may ask to see the ownership. They may not. Bring it with you.

If you dont have an ownership, make sure you go into customs before you cross into the US, tell them you want to make a customs declaration, they will need the serial number off the bike, all this does is proves that you had it with you when you left the country, so you dont get nailed for taxes on the way back.

Ive crossed quite a few times, and have been asked for ownership twice, so have it handy, the americans dont seem to care, but on the way back you better have some papers.
