Any help would be greatly appreciated with this. Bought an ex Kawasaki 07 zx6 racebike over a year ago. This bike i guess has what is called a race kit ecu(Denso), harness, tach etc. Would like to know if i can myself find out what map or settings are programmed into the ecu(probably need software) or a shop that can do this for me. Ran the bike on premium pump fuel last summer and all of this summer except for my last trackday, where i put some race fuel in it. Totally different perforrmance. I always assumed it was mapped for race fuel, but just want to use the right stuff in it. I know there is alot of knowledge here, so any help is appreciated. Does this ECU eliminate the need for a power commander. Thanks Steve

If its a "kit" ECU you can bet that its mapped different. Likely set for other stuff as well, hi comp (thin kit gaskets) , pipe, possibly fuel, likely a higher redline. The bigger issue with fuel comes from compression ratio rather than fuel type. I suggest getting more info from the previous owner on the engine mods. Its the ONLY way you are going to know where you are. If the engine has high compression be careful running lower octane fuel, you can damage the engine.

Thanks for your help Ken, trying now to contact one of the factory tuners that possibly could of worked on it.
