Deep Purple's Jon Lord dies

Got his autograph in 1987 after the Gardens show. Have it somewhere…
 
I did find it odd that not only did he retire from the band, but he gave all his highly modded gear to "the new guy" a few years ago. I guess he had been ill for some time.
 
RIP John! A Hammond B3 played through a cranked Marshall guitar amp, ahh...

I'll listen to Made in Japan (one of the best live albums of all-time) when I get home.
