Dec 1/2011 and still on 2 wheels

Did you think you’d still be on 2 wheels in Toronto for the month of December?

Time to find your trickle charger and fuel stabilizer, the end is near.

Who's still riding?

Stay safe, cold pavement sucks

Since I started commuting I had to be more judgemental as I don't like stop and go at minus temps.
Last year it was a 5 min ride to work so I made it till mid december everyday it wasn't ice.
I am still riding though and will probably put it away in about 2 weeks.

beGonna head to the Shed at the Forks and say goodbye to the old place....likely to be lots of bikes up there.

Nice day for it

Definetely nice to be riding this late in the year. Its been a few years since I could ride full time without the car into December. I am guessing though when the snow comes, its gonna be heavy to make up for its lateness, because thats how weather works of course :D

Still ridin up here in Newmarket...most likely my last ride to work. Gonna be a long 4months or so

I am envious. Since I sold my Ural sidecar rig back in February, my last ride of the season on the Road Glide was last week. There's about 1cm of snow on the ground up here in Grey County and they've already been pounding the salt into the roads, so that's it for me till April. :(

Nice ride up - quote a few regulars on bikes came in.
Heading home soon - might be the last ride of the year :(

Probably my ride of the year today too, not digging the cold as always.

Rode both bikes to the gas station today to top up and run the stabilizer through. Too much sand anywhere north of the 401 and too cold most mornings to ride to work at 6am. It'll be a few days til I time to do the rest of the pre-sleep maintenance so if we get a fluke nice day I'll still go for a ride.

For a first riding season it's been great. Into December..... beautiful. Going into hibernation on Saturday. Hope we don't pay for the late riding season with a crappy Spring.

Was a beautiful day today. Sun was out on the ride home again this afternoon. I watched a weather report today that said this has been one of the mildest Novembers in many years, and the good news is that December is supposed to be the same. Gonna still be more riding days before there is permanent snow or ice on the ground. I'm feeling a mild winter coming on and early spring :)

I had the oil changed, bike cleaned, fuel stabilizer put in on Monday. On Wednesday I was already itching to get out once the snow dried. Though I saw the salt trucks putting some salt down so I decided not to head out. Once the salt comes out I'd rather not risk corroding the bike.

I rode year-round in Korea for the past three years. I'm not really sure how well I'll deal without riding for an extended period of time (the longest time between rides since I started riding three years ago was about six days). :(

Supposed to be sunny and 5degrees on Saturday. Since I didn't get out on Thursday, I might try for a quick tour on the weekend to say "Ya, I rode in December". Then that's definitely it.

The ride to work was more rainy this morning than the weather channels let on, but dry by afternoon, another nice sunny and comfortable ride home, felt much warmer than the +3 on cp24 when i got home. Felt like a spring day.

As long as you give it a good bath. the salt wont be an issue :)

When I had my 83 sabre 750 in Toronto, I rode until January 1st. Toronto has the concrete jungle effect, it's about 5 degrees warmer than outside of Toronto. At this time of year 5 degrees difference is huge. Back in those days Toronto didn't pile its snow, they removed it.

Dec 10th was my last ride.
Surprised to feel that the tires still held some heat.

Quick wash resulted in a thin coat of ice...

good luck to those still our there
