So I get on my bike today (2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250) to go to a dentist appointment and I hit the start button and the bike won't start. It makes a "wet fart" type of noise (best way to describe it). I haven't ridden in 7-9 days so from what I've learned by searching the GTAM forum and Google is that my battery probably went dead.
I went to CT and bought a Noco Genius GS1100 charger and charged the battery until it was 100 percent and surprisingly it only took 30-40 minutes. I tried starting it and it fired up right away. Thinking everything was fine I turned it off and put the seat and the fairings back on. Once everything was back on I tried it again just to double check and the bike made the "wet farting" noise again and wouldn't start. After a few more tries no more farting noise just clicking.
So is my battery toast or did I not charge it long enough? How long should I charge it for? I read the manual for the charger and it says the estimated time to charge a 7.2 Ah battery is 5 hours and the Kawasaki Manual says the battery is a 12 V 6 Ah battery so I should be good after 5 hours right?
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a noob and this is the first time anything has gone wrong with my bike. Thanks.
