We've got a lot of members on the board from the Brampton area, so I thought I'd ask. There was a collision on Clark Blvd., westbound, at the exit from Supercentre today (Jan. 21st), at around 10:45am. A red Dodge Dakota was passing the exit from the mall, while travelling westbound on Clark, and got hit by some sort of green compact (Escort?) that blew the stop sign at the exit from the mall. The driver of the compact, a white male, took off while the driver of the Dakota was getting her insurance paperwork.

The driver of the Dakota was my 70 year old mother. The car that hit her apparently didn't have a rear license plate and now doesn't have a front bumper, either, though it seems the ******* who hit her paused long enough to pick it up.

Any help in locating this "model citizen" would be greatly appreciated.

A report has already been made. I'm hoping that someone might have some more information, with which to identify this driver.

I figure that the driver was uninsured. He asked my mother if she was insured and when they separated, supposedly each to get their insurance paperwork, he booked it eastbound across the bridge, over 410. That's a very dangerous intersection, due to the lack of a light. People push to try and rush through ahead of the through traffic, and I've seen collisions there many times before. Always seems to be caused by someone who is trying to make a left, out of the mall parking lot, to go eastbound on Clark.

Ahhh Bastard. Hope your mom is ok. I was hit in April and only now I am starting to suffer from my back. Make sure no matter what you mom gets a full check up. Good luck finding him.

no video footage of the area? any camera's pointed at that spot...if he came from the parking lot, must have gone into the stores, should be footage to catch him there...but alas, that is a lot of work...but hey, that's why she has insurance, let them figure it out...hope that was all the issues was a tweaked wrist...

It's entirely possible the guy was running on a trip permit glued to the inside of the windshield. Worth a shot with the MTO to check.

Unfortunately my mother has no clue about cars and was just guessing at the make. Hell, she's not even sure about the colour, given how shaken up she was at the time. She didn't see anything on the windscreen and didn't even realize he didn't have a plate on the back, until he was already running.

They stopped those temp. window stickers a few years back. Now they give you your plates and a temp sticker goes in place of your normal plate sticker.
Good to hear that there was no serious injury's though.

No witnesses came forward?

Best of luck

Wow, I pass this area all the time. I'm glad your Mom wasn't seriously injured. I hope karma catches up to that *******. I will keep a lookout for that car.
