Hello everyone,
I bought these items last year, and unfortunately I dont see myself racing this year or the next, so I figure rather than let these collect dust I might let them go for the right price. Selling is NOT a necessity and I do understand that they are used and slightly damaged, but I am not willing to completely shaft myself as the items combined cost well over $1500 (yes, I bought locally) Anyone buying these is likely buying for the track and understands that the gear is going to get just as "used" within a few sessions themselves, let alone a crash which we all know does happen and is guaranteed to happen at some point. Save yourself the pain of messing up shiny brand new gear!
Some of you may recognize the gear as I raced with racer5 last year at TMP and Mosport.
The suit is a size 48, suitable (no pun intended) for someone between 5'6" and 5'8". On my 5'8" slim frame the suit was tight while standing but once on the bike it was snug and comfortable. There are no rips or tears in the leather, or even scuffs, the only apparent damage is on the right shoulder which I landed on when I wiped out. Its worth noting that it did its job and my shoulder was not injured at all.
The boots are a size 42, US 8, but I wear a size 9 shoe generally. There are scrapes on the toe sliders, and scuffs to the insides of the boots from contacting with the bike. In the accident I had one of the heel "sliders" was snapped off, but this is a replaceable expendable part and in no way affects the use of the boot itself. Its worth noting that while wearing these you could take a baseball bat to the ankle and remain unscathed.
For the suit I am asking $500 OBO, and for the boots $150 OBO, willing to haggle, but I wont let them go for absolutely free.
