dainese knee v guard?

Anyone ride with these? Debating on getting them. Read a bunch of reviews on a variety of knee protection and these look like the best ones. Going to probably purchase them if I don't hear and major complaints.

I've used them for a little over half a season and really have nothing but good things to say about them. I've never put them to the test, but are relatively comfortable and lower profile, plus the knee does articulate unlike the Icon Stryker I originally bought (which didn't have a strap above the knee).

The only thing I can't say though is how well they work with a full on boot -- I rode with ankle-high payless boots for my first year, and just upgraded to Supertech Rs over the winter. I haven't tried riding or on-bike yet, but trying on both the boots and the guards seems like it should work...just the tips of the guards go into the tops of the boots.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your input. I went by royal d's today and apparently they are closed today. I even checked there website last night and it said until 4pm on Sunday. I must have missed where it said holiday hours.

Anyone else have these knee guards?

Easter Sunday ;)

GP also carries them (or carried them -- that's where I got mine)

I've bee wearing these since the middle of last year, and they have been great.

I wear them with a full boot, and they tuck in nicely. I did have to adjust the top of the boot to make it just a tad wider, to accept the bottom of the guard over my shins. The straps have held up with almost daily use (sans winter). They're comfortable, and I wear them under a pair of Joe Rocket textiles which I removed the pads from. Used to (and sometimes will) wear then under a pair of jeans, with no comfort/fit issues.

I had the slowest of low-sides in my garage the other day (working off the rust), and I would do it again just for the slide. Didn't feel a thing. They seem to hold in place well.

Picked these up last year from GP, great fit, breaths very well. My only complaint is the top strap, when put on your bare skin, can get uncomfortable at times, can feel the velco chaffing against your skin. Most of the time I just didn't do the top strap up to be honest. Still would highly recommend them to any other knee/shin guard I've tried.

Yah I just picked these up yesterday. Bike is still in storage, so when the weather gets better and the roads have had some nice spring cleaning, I'll be sure to test these bad boys out.

I have these and they are great. Love the fact that they are low profile. As stated the top strap if done up too tight can irritate the back of the knee. I remedy this by just tightening the bottom two straps more and leaving the top one loose.

I ride with mine over my jeans and under my textiles, so no chaffing issues. If you wear them under, maybe you can wrap something around that top strap to fix it, or place something under them somehow.

I bought these straps at Dollarama for $1.00. If the top strap is irritating because of the velcro, I figure I will use this strap instead to secure the top part of the knee pad with the velcro on the outside of the knee pad. This way there's no velcro rash.

I let you know how it works out. Its just something I thought of while I was there don't know if it will actually work.
