CV Half Shaft Assembly

Is a "CV Half Shaft Assembly" the whole drive axle, or is it just the end.

For example if I order a CV "Half Shaft Assembly", would I get the top item from the picture, or the middle?

half shaft assembly should come inner CV/outer CV and shaft. Like the middle photo. There used to be some assemblies that could be bought each pc but usually now you'll get a complete half shaft.

Alright thanks. I thought "half shaft" referred to inner or outer part since those are halves of a drive shaft.
