Cruiser Windshield or Windscreen

I own a Suzuki S40 which came with a generic windshield/windscreen (not sure what model it is). It works wonders at city speeds but once I get to highway speeds, the buffeting gets really bad and I turn into a bobble head. I’ve got a ride down to PA planned for the Civic holiday weekend and hoping to find a solution before the ride.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Modding the current screen?
What type of set up do you have?
Buying a new one?

From what I’ve read online, it seems like it’s trial and error until you find the screen that works. Doesn’t sound very economical.

Pics of screen? Can you adjust it in any way (raise, lower or tilt)?

Google laminar lip.

Google 'Harley fangs' - thin strips on the side of the forks, below the windshield. Blocks the wind coming below the windshield and according to user reports reduces the buffeting. You might be able to mock up something with sheet metal for a trial...

Generaly people believe that buffeting is caused by wind coming under the screen from the bottom, aiding in the already present pressure zone behind the screen. Doesn't matter if you raise it beyond your eye level or not. A suggestion of raising the windscreen to just beneath your eye-line, at speed hold your arm horizontally across your upper body to discourage air from rising up from the tank area. If your buffering reduces, the thought is "lowers" will help your cause.

It's something I'll be picking up sooner rather than later as this simple test did the job for me.

Yeah I had this exact problem, it was like a revelation when I held my arm out and the buffeting stopped. Memphis Shades sells nice windscreens and lowers that aren't too expensive, I have them on my bike, they helped a bit but I still get a little bit of buffeting.

Lowers.
That's what they are called and what you need. They WILL stop the buffeting.
Marl mentioned Memphis shades. They sell lowers that will bracket right onto your bike and work with your existing shield.

10 minutes work and no more buffeting. They have lowers for your S40 and will look similar to what is pictured below.

They call these Fork Deflectors.
