I see all kinds of them free on Craigslist. Does anyone really want them or are people just trying to get other people to take away their junk? I have two if anyone wants to re-create Y2K.

Its easier to get someone to pick it up then go and take it to a recycling plant. I remeber one of the buildings on my campus last year had a crt for cans of food drive, lol bring in a can of food get a 24" crt monster

Depends on the type of CRTs, I like the fancy ones. I only gave up on mine within the last year, got a nice Dell U2410 now.

I'm a late adopter too. Just went flat screen for the first time this year as well. Now I'm finally seeing what I've been missing all along lol

I use LCDs at work and CRTs at home. Still like mine. Eventually I'll get a 40+" monitor/tv. Sometime after Aug 1.

My work changed all the computer monitors to 19" flatscreens a few months ago.
It's unbelieveable how much electricity a CRT consumes compared to a flatscreen.
My work has over 2000 computers running 24/7. This probably made a big difference on their power bills.

The great part is they ordered a bin out back and I would see the IT guys wheel over a stack of CRTs and throw them in the bin.
I asked them if I could bring my old ones around because I know no one would buy them and if I put them at the curb, they'd still be there today.
They said "as long as the cameras don't see you, go ahead".
I am now -3 CRT monitors and a lot more room in my storage space. :D

Current setup is a 22" Asus widescreen as my main and a square 19" flat as a secondary.
The secondary is also hooked up to a KVM so I can use it with my 2 servers and my "guinea pig pc" without shuffling cables around everytime.
Works great.
