Crossing the border with more bikes than passengers

If anyone knows of an alternate thread to my question, kindly post the link. I didn't see anything relevant but I may not have looked hard enough.

A few of us are travelling at Easter time into the US. We're trailering our bikes, but due to lack of time off, some of us of leaving Wednesday night and other on Thursday night. With more seats in cars than trailer spots, someone leaving Thursday will need to have their bike trailered with someone else leaving on Wednesday.

So owner of said bike will leaving a day after the bike.

Has anyone had experience with any problems at the border? Of course, insurance and ownership papers will be with the bike to prove it's not stolen. But would anything else be required?

I tried to give CBP a call today but the wait time would have been over an hour. I'll try again another day but looking to the best online GTA bike forum there is first.;)

I used to do it on a regular basis(1 person, 3-4 bikes) as long as all the paperwork is in order, you've got nothing to worry about.

Youll be fine, i go down with 7 bikes in a trailer and only 3 guys in the truck.

Just ensure the ownership or Y38 form is attached to each bike.

Don't think it will be much of an issue. A bunch of friends just went down to Florida for some early season track time. Had 4 guys in the truck and about 9 bikes in the back, rest of the guys flew down and met those that drove at the airport. They never mentioned any issues crossing.

Thanks dudes!
I tried looking up the Y38 form, is that the same as the clearance form you can fill out at the border, to prove you brought the stuff in, rather than purchasing in the US and bringing it back?

that's the one!

Can this Y38 form be provided at any border crossing, outside of business hours?

I've done it a few times with no issues.
I is however have the owners consent and information as well as the ownerships for all bikes crossing with me just in case.
Only once was I asked about it.
I told him I had the ownerships, that seamed to be good enough for him as he didn't even want to see them lol.
But cross your T's and dot your I's just in case.
