Criss-cross pattern for removing cylinder head cover bolts?

Hi all, I am trying to remove the cylinder head cover on a Suzuki Savage LS650 (2000), but I am not 100% sure what the criss-cross pattern would be. I don't want to warp the cover. Any insight appreciated.

I have attached a picture of the cover.

Thanks!!

I would grab a Haynes or Clymer manual and it will explain the best way to take it apart. Lots of useful information in those, well worth the money.

You don't need to remove the cover screws in a criss-cross pattern. That's only used when putting the cover back on so that it seats properly. If you want to get really mad, you'd tighten every bolt up to half torque first, then go through it again at full torque.

cover screws no problem (6mm), but head bolts should be released opposite to tightening pattern, best in 2 stages.

+1 you only have to worry about the bolt pattern when putting it back on, not when taking it off

start at the 10 o clock then go to 4o clock position, 2 o clock then 8 and keep going that way. Just keep track of where the bolts cam from and if you're not confident -grab a digital camera and take step by step pics. Good luck
