I was trying to explain this video/woman at the meet up last night and could not get it done.
This woman has been hired as a 'fat consultant' by San Francisco.

This is why I find it hard to stay positive sometimes.....

Yesterday at a popular protest site , a MapleLeaf foods pork processing plant here in Burlington, two large gals ( maybe it was snow wear ) held protest signs that said “ Go vegan” and “animals are alive “ , they also had a gay flag flying tied to a lamp post , and two other signs that said “free Palestine “ and “ give Afghanistan women the right to speak” . I want to party with those two.

You look at this stuff and think it's just a crazy video and no one takes them seriously. Laugh and move on.

Here is the problem. Universities are giving degrees in this garbage.

Tovar completed a Master's degree focused on the study of how weight-based discrimination impacted lifelong gender trajectories in women of color.

She also has a Yale fellowship.

So now she is considered an 'expert' and gets hired by governments (see OP). This crackpot is influencing and creating policy. She is not alone.

If only it were just a funny video.
