CRF250X Street legal?

Hey guys, after much deliberation and research, I've finally narrowed it down to a CRF250X. Now, my questions is, can I easily turn this bike into a street legal dual sport? I found a package online, but I'd like to hear it from someone that actually did it and insured it.
Thanks.

People still claim to be able to do it, but I personally wouldn't buy the bike unless I was sure. I just bought a CRF250L, it's nowhere as competent off road as the X. If you want a hardcore offroad bike the L is not for you. I bought mine for gravel roads, not off road. it's a brand new model, if you want more of a dual sport it might be what you are looking for. It is street legal out of the box. I think though if you are looking at the X then maybe a street legal KTM might be what you want, but they are not cheap.

If it's a used bike the easiest way to tell if its been registered as street legal is the color of the ownership. If it's brown, then off road only.if it's green, then a safety and a plate, and away you go. I found this out the hard way when I bought my Kawasaki, once they've been registered as off road, there's no going back to road legal. I then did what YYZ suggested,I sold the Kawasaki and bought a KTM.

I just sold CRF250x streetlegal, I found it too heavy and looking for CRF250r
do you really need electric starter and battery, all this weight to carry around? go to dealer and ballance around x and r.
do not forget ****ing wiring harness and tubing for expension tank runs through the subframe
to remove subframe you'll need to remove all this **** first and reassemble after
it is a dirt bike after all, you need to remove subframe often
get CRF 250R, it is hard to streetlegal both x and r, I did it
good luck

I have a 06 yamaha yz450f that has a street ownership. its not street legal the way it is but could be done with a kit. im looking to sell it
