Crazy Audi TT crash

Read the article, and it's good that the resident(s) were unharmed, hope the driver pulls through, etc ... I look at those pictures and wonder if the house is repairable.

Audi hell did he manage to get himself up there?
 
The answer to a lot of peoples question "Why are insurance rates so damn high for young people!?!?".
 
Just to add.... this is why the parents of these privileged kids shouldn't be handing out bmw's/audis/mercedes etc. Could you imagine if that kid had an actual fast car? He probably wouldn't have seen 20.

this generation of Audi tt's were known for 'jumping' the back wheels at speed around corners and launching the cars. something to do with placing the body on a VW golf chassis and not changing the suspension. There was a big thing about it on BBC Top Gear a few years back. Although it looks like he also hit some kind of ramp- maybe a low hooded (pedestrian friendly) BMW on display in buddies driveway
 
^ Audi had a recall on the early ones but the issue wasn't the rear end "jumping" while cornering - it had something to do with aerodynamic lift on the rear of the vehicle that caused it to become unsettled at high speed because of the shape of the body. The spoiler on the hatch of the one in the photo suggests that it was either not one of the affected vehicles or that it had been modified (either via the recall or otherwise). The Golf (shared platform and suspension design) wasn't affected because its more squared-off shape was less subject to aerodynamic lift ...

I don't think this was the issue at hand here. Looks a lot more like a defective driver, than a defective vehicle.

Should have had a faster car, he would have cleared the house with more hp.
