Ural needed gas. Filled up with 13l last week. Pinging right away. Motor didn't like it all. Siphoned it out soon as i got home. Don't think i want to even run it in the mower or blower. Wasn't even a big dollar savings.

Which Costco gas bar location? Please not the Heartland in Mississauga!

I was surprised that the Ural was so picky on fuel. I figured it would be low strung and relatively fuel agnostic.
The older models (pre fi) weren't fussy at all. Emissions constraints bring in higher compressions, cats etc.
It will run ok on regular. Just not crap that's been sitting underground all year.
How many people go to Costco for a tank of the good stuff?

Did you tell the station where you bought the gas? Are there hundreds of people out there with bad gas?

Being costco, they may give you a refund.
Being bound by the laws of Weights and Measures Canada, they'll do more than that.

My thought were that if Ric informed them they were selling bad gas, they'd shut off the pump, so other customers don't have the same issues, that aren't as easy to fix as on a Ural. ****** gas is hell on turbo motors

I can say I’ve used both premium and regular at COSTCO. Si, and WRX required premium and never had an issue.

GTI and odyssey we fill up with regular from Costco, zero issue.

Must have been a mixup, or a huge screw up.

Old K750s and M72s used to run great pretty much on anything that looked and smelled like gasoline. These new Urals must be built differently.

Yeah, must be a bad batch, or maybe water got into the tank from flooding (though it's sort of on a hill). We've been filling up at Costco almost exclusively since they opened their stations without issue, mostly Mississauga and Etobicoke. Daughter lived in Waterloo for school for 6 years and worked part time there where she also filled up and never had any problems. I have Costco gas in my 99 BMW 323i that's more or less a parts car for my M3. I'd start it up every couple years, and last year was the first time it sounded rough. Then I realized the last time it was filled was in 2013, 10 years ago!
