Stumbled across this road yesterday while driving and thought it would probably be fun to ride on. It is by the airport and has a fence line all around it and gates at each end of it so I think it's open durring certain hours but I'm not sure.

Has anyone been riding on this road before? Does anyone know if the gates get closed at a certain hour.

Also, not a road you could do to many times in a row as Peel Region Police has a cop shop by on of the entrances to this street.

The gates are always open except for special events/situations.

I took the road every morning when I worked in the midfield area at Pearson. If you're an aviation buff like myself, and Toronto is on the east-west runways, you have some really good views, especially in the creek on the west side under the approach path for the east facing runways. When they're on the north facing runways, its even better.

Watch out as I've seen the PRP sitting right at the stop sign outside the station picking off people who don't stop fully.

The only thing to remember is that it is a major airport. You may not see it, but CSIS, RCMP, PRP, CBSA and GTAA Security are all active there, and if they see you hanging around and flying through the airport ground back and forth, you might get stopped.

I wouldn't call Convair the most entertaining road, but its a nice way to see some sights around the airport.

I work for the GTAA on Convair Drive - the Peel Regional Police are like lice on Convair and Silverdart Drive so watch out!!!! Depending on what section you are on, the speed limit is anywhere from 40 to 60 kms and yes I have been stopped on my way to work (doing 70 in a 50 zone). Plus there are tons of transport trucks that use that road to get to the in-field Cargo and Customs building.

It's a fun road to ride on but do it with caution.

Thanks so much, I figured it was too good to be true when I saw the Peel cop shop:(

I went on this road because there was a thread about fascination with aviation and I wanted to get as close as possible.

Going to have to go back for that alone, didn't have any planes taking off or landing when I was there so I had no idea.
