I tried the search function, didn't find the thread I was looking for.

so for those of you who use one what are the pros/cons of it.

please and thanks

Got the GPS version. Small, compact, stealthy, easy functioning with the slider record / stop and rotating lens. When the GPS is on then it drains the battery life though. You need a bigger memory card too (i have a 16gb, stock is 2gb)

Amazing unedited quality and even better with a few adjustments.

Mic is useless after 30km/h on a bike (little foam square and tape over the mic and it works better up to 60km/h). In the car it picks up the engine, radio and conversation very well.

Wait until a sale, motorcycle show or something where they are much cheaper. Don't pay more them $320 for a Contour HD GPS because that's what I got it for.

I can send you clips / videos (send me a pm) - facebook dumbs down the quality alot

See the review on WebBikeWorld.com

from what I have heard, the Contour HD GPS is very buggy. I recently used a GoPRO and was impressed at the footage it took on a trail bike

Most likely the first batch that came out. Im happy with mine. Using it tomorrow demoing bikes from Honda.

I use a GoPro 1080 primarily in the daytime, but switch to my ContourHD1080 at night. Personally, I would rather use the GoPro all the time, but with some minor tweaks the Contour captures much better video in low-light/night-time than the GoPro.

Something interesting I find, is that when riding at speed (highways etc), the GoPro videos seem more fluid and the essence of the speed seems to be captured, but with the Contour for some reason it almost looks as if the video is just slightly slowed down somehow. Anyone else find this?

What mode are you on, full 1080, action 720 etc (action 720 work the best I find for high speeds) and also the mirco memory card - you can get different classes that are faster.

Actually, the GoPro is at 720p/30, but the Contour at 1080p/30. Been meaning to switch the Contour to 720p/30 since it'd also have that wide-angle effect the GoPro has. Main reason for the 30fps is to conserve battery/space, but also because I do upload to YouTube sometimes and no point shooting at 60fps in that case... and if I remember right, at 60fps the low-light performance on the Contour suffered -- but maybe that was 720p in general?

Using a Class 10 32GB SDHC card in the GoPro, and a Class 6 16GB MicroSD in the Contour.
