Collision with steel towing cable

And then there are stupid kids that pull strings across streets on purpose like this across small streets around where I live cause they think it's funny.... Really wish I could beat those lil ****ers down but I'll just get charged for manslaughter against a 12 year old.

Funny thing is they did it to me and my gf in a car so we sped up hoping to take their fingers off.

wtf?

Yup.

I've told them before to stop doing that or they might kill someone and they just laughed it off and did the typical flip the bird and yelled "**** you".

Rather have those kids missing fingers than having a line across my neck while I'm riding through on my bike. Maybe they'd learn their lesson if they have missing fingers.

Anyways, I haven't seen this since Summer. Maybe its too cold, or maybe they learned their lesson. Either way, I don't care, as long as they're not hanging lines over the street.

This was comon in England where I grew up. Many times kids put fishing line or string across for fun.
Grandmother lived in a very rough area that was a block of housing shaped like an arena. 1 lane entrance/exit at each end. Many times I went there to make sure she hadn't been broken in again only to get kids 5y to 15y throwing broom handles at the bike wheels.

I saw an episode of mythbusters last night about this. It's the scene in one of the Indiana Jones movies where he stuffs a broomstick in the front wheel of motorcycle that the Nazi is chasing him on and the bike then goes cartwheeling through the air.

IIRC this happened 2 years ago in the GTA and an unfortunate motorcyclist almost had his head taken off.

I will try and find the article
