Is it me just thinking so, or the road course although fast, looks kind of boring (if used without entering the oval area, which could be a safety issue)?

Well it is great to see a new track being built as it is good for auto racing on a whole in Canada. Finally somebody came up with the guts to build a good facility in Ontario.
However having said that, it doesn't look world class the circuit. F1, motogp, and wsbk would never race on an infield like that, too bad.
Probably only get nascar there, if that is your thing.
We need a good place for world class motorcycle racing in Ontario. We need a stop in Canada for moto gp and wsbk circus. I doubt this track will do this

They will never come to Canada, there isn't enough population for them to care.

Definitely just you thinking so. Looking at it, you can already figure a few configurations which can work in both directions.
 
USing it with out the Oval is probably prudent.And probably cheaper!!! Low banking ovals have a history of not being good for bikes. Louden and Pocono come to mind. The last race they ran at Pocono and used the banking,,,six guys were air lifted in one day. Louden ,locals would not even race there. But they have reconfigured it somewhat to change the direction you exit/enter the banking. So after some incidents they have fixed it. Pocono they don't even use the banking last I checked.
 
There's still some land ownership issues, so this may end up just being new housing and/or retail space...
