Clutch Safety Bypass

Hey,

I want to bypass the clutch safety sensor so I can start the bike without having to hold in the clutch.

Is it a simple strip the wires from the sensor and tie them together? Or is there more to it?
Reading other sites on this bypass, there seems to be a loss in power due to the timing of the spark plugs once u disconnect the sensor. Could that just be certain bikes/cars?\

Thanks.

PS: post some links to instructionals if u know any.

Well from a safety stand point. - do not do it.

I just use a thick wire and by pass it - and wrap the connector using shrink wrap

bad idea! but ya I just looped the wire back to it self at the connector on mine. dont cut the wire so it can be stock if you ever go to sell it.

Thanks.

Yeah, it's just because the sensor is mucking up with me and I have to wiggle the lever until it catches. Maybe the wires are loose. I just want to know as a last resort if I try to fix it and it doesnt work or if I have to wait for a part to come in.

Thanks.

take a look to see if its the sensor or the wiring. you can remove the clutch lever and play with the plunger on the switch to see if that's the issue or not.

But if you loop a wire at the connector - it will by pass it.

I did it on my GSXR1000. And it suddenly felt like a 750.
I found out afterwards, that for easier starting, the timing maps are different in the ecu when the clutch is in or out.

On the gsxr I'm pretty sure the ecu looks for a change in state of the switch so tying them together is just as bad as not having it. My 07 gsxr 600 had them tied when I bought it, wouldn't rev past 13,000 and felt like a scooter.
